The Town Council of Harpers Ferry consists of the Mayor, Recorder, and five Council members, each elected for terms of two years in June of each odd-numbered year. The next elections will be held on Tuesday, 8 June 2021.
Regular monthly meetings of the Council are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. Special meetings are scheduled as necessary. Notices of all meetings are posted at the Harpers Ferry Post Office, on the bulletin board outside the main door of Town Hall, and inside Town Hall. See the calendar of events at the right side of this page for other meetings and events.
Council appoints members to the various commissions and committees from a pool of citizen volunteers. Terms of appointed members expire regularly. Persons interested in serving the town government at this level should contact the Mayor or a Council member for further information. All meetings are open to the public and are held upstairs at Town Hall.
